Getting pictures taken every year when I was growing up was NO FUN. It meant putting on a fussy outfit with sweater tights that itched and so many layers of skirt that I got lost. It meant putting my hand on my little brothers shoulder and plastering on a grin as the photographer tried too coo to him to squeeze out a smile. It meant sitting on a faux shag rug in front of a painted blue backdrop with giant light stands surrounding us. No fun at all!
Well, I am so thankful that today a new style of children’s and family portraiture has taken over! Instead of stuffy studios and fake backdrops, lets take a walk in your favorite park, or bake some cookies in the kitchen together. How about heading out to the sandbox to play with trucks or wearing our ballerina outfits? You want photos that are fun, cheerful and fresh. Photos that capture the giggling personalities of your 2 year old tike or your 8 yr old princess.
